Cookies Notice

Last updated: June 2026

The short version

Geneablocks sets no cookies. We use privacy-first analytics (Simple Analytics) that works without cookies and without identifying you personally. Browser local storage is used for on-device preferences only, which never leaves your browser.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They are used for a wide range of purposes โ€” keeping you logged in, remembering preferences, measuring how pages are used, and delivering targeted advertising.

Under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), websites must tell you clearly what cookies they set and obtain your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.

Cookies set by Geneablocks

Cookie / Storage Type Purpose Status
Browser local storage On-device only Saves any on-page preferences to your own device. Never transmitted to any server. Active
Simple Analytics Analytics (cookieless) Records aggregated, anonymised page view and referral data. No cookies are set. No individual visitor is identified or tracked across sites. Active โ€” cookieless
Affiliate tracking Affiliate (third-party) When you click an affiliate link, the merchant's site may set cookies to track referrals. These are set on the merchant's site, not by Geneablocks.* Third-party only
* Geneablocks itself sets neither tracking nor advertising cookies, nor do we allow partners to place cookies on our website. The affiliate tracking row above describes what may occur on merchant sites after you click a link.

Netlify hosting infrastructure

Geneablocks is hosted on Netlify. As part of standard hosting operations, Netlify's infrastructure processes technical data including IP addresses when pages are served. This is not set by Geneablocks directly. See Netlify's Privacy Policy for details.

Simple Analytics

Geneablocks uses Simple Analytics to understand how the site is used. Unlike most analytics services, Simple Analytics does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It records aggregated data such as page views and referral sources without tracking you as an individual or following you across other websites.

Simple Analytics is operated by Simple Analytics BV, the Netherlands. You can read more at simpleanalytics.com/privacy.

If advertising is added in future

Should we add advertising to Geneablocks at any point, we will:

  • Update this cookies notice to describe the specific cookies being set
  • Add a cookie consent banner to the site which will appear on first visit and allow you to accept or decline non-essential cookies
  • Ensure that no advertising cookies are set before your consent is obtained, in compliance with UK GDPR and PECR

You will not be surprised by advertising cookies โ€” we will ask first.

How to manage or clear cookies and local storage

You can clear local storage and any cookies at any time through your browser settings. The steps vary by browser:

  • Chrome: Settings โ†’ Privacy and security โ†’ Clear browsing data
  • Firefox: Settings โ†’ Privacy & Security โ†’ Cookies and Site Data โ†’ Clear Data
  • Safari: Preferences โ†’ Privacy โ†’ Manage Website Data

We will update this notice before any new cookies or tracking technologies are introduced. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent changes.
